One and God Make a Majority

In our Joel Goldsmith class on Thursday we read from his new book, The Government of Eden, on page 30, “For this world is suffering from one thing: the absence of God.”

The above title is a quote used by Joel, from Frederick Douglas, a former slave who escaped slavery, educated himself and became a major voice as an abolitionist and statesman during and after the Civil war. Mr. Douglas at another time also said, “The soul that is within me no man can degrade.”

What a powerful example of one man committed to and understanding the spiritual path. A man that spoke the truth of himself as being one with God and following his inner guidance.

Today we hold the truth that there is a spiritual answer to all situations and challenges. One and God make a majority. We do not have the answers. We do not know the highest and best road to follow. We seem to be lost in the cull de sacs of life. Going round and round, repeating the same things that have not worked in the past.

The spiritual answer is to open the door of our consciousness, open the door of the universe within, and admit God. This occurs when we let go and let God. When we resign as master of the universe and let the real Master take over. Peace only comes through letting the Father in and surrendering the petty manipulations of the ego mind.

Jesus, the master teacher, told us that we were the light of the world. It is up to us to make a choice of how much light we radiate. We also make a choice to radiate light or darkness. Our world needs the light of peace, love, and caring. We can only broadcast that light when we are one with God. When we are one with God, the world brightens, and things change around us.

Thank you to Frederick Douglas for his bright and shining light and the changes that he brought about in our world.
