Unity World Day of Prayer

Unity World Day of Prayer is right around the corner!

Wednesday, September 9, 2020
Please join us via Zoom at 6:45pm CT as we celebrate the 27th Annual Unity World Day of Prayer as we unite heart and mind with people from around the globe to affirm:

Standing in Truth, I move from fear to faith.

Together, we will watch the live broadcast on YouTube and have the opportunity to share our thoughts/feelings during the broadcast via the Zoom Chat tool.  Specific information will be sent ahead of time on how to make the most of this experience.
We’ll spend the first 15 minutes catching up/socializing then we’ll watch the Unity Opening Ceremony:
7 p.m.—Opening Ceremony
·         Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett, Vice President, Unity Prayer Ministry
·         Rev. Ogun Holder, Senior Minister, Unity on the River, Amesbury, Massachusetts
·         Rev. DeeAnn Weir Morency, Associate Minister, Unity San Francisco
·         Rev. Ana Quintana, Associate Minister, Unity of the Triangle, Raleigh, North Carolina

When the Opening Ceremony concludes, we’d like to invite you to participate in the Unity World Day of Prayer 24-hour prayer vigil by going to the Silent Unity Prayer Vigil website (https://www.unityprayervigil.org) at a time slot of your convenience before 7:00pm CT on September 10th.  The prayer vigil website provides prayer vigil guidelines and prayers and inspiration and through Lights Around the World  which allows you to see all the different locations where people have joined the website to pray.  Just click on PRAY on the site to begin.  Please note that this tool is always available if you should wish to  anytime repeat this experience.
In 1890, Myrtle and Charles Fillmore began daily to hold in mind and heart the prayer requests of everyone who contacted them. In 1907, Charles added new telephone connectivity to the prayer work of Silent Unity. Silent Unity now prays individual with callers from around the world 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as answering letters, emails, texts and prayer requests though social media.  Each new prayer request is held at Silent Unity for 30 days of continued prayer. The requests are placed in the Prayer Vigil Chapel, where someone is praying 24 hours a day.  Silent Unity is often referred to as the heart of the Unity movement, and for many people, it is a heart that beats in rhythm with our world. Centered in God and united in prayer, Silent Unity uplifts minds and hearts to give people whatever faith, courage, and strength they seek. This sacred work and purpose continue today.
