Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. In Unity, its inner meaning and spiritual significance is the awakening and raising to spiritual consciousness of the I AM in man, which has been dead in trespass and sin and buried in the tomb of materiality. In the Bible, trespass refers to violating a boundary, law, or right, either against God or others. It can be intentional or unintentional and encompasses various actions like violating our morals, harming someone or betraying trust. We know that sin means “to miss the mark.” Regarding being buried in the “tomb of materiality” – the Revealing Word defines the metaphysical meaning of materiality as the concept that the material universe is real, that the three-dimension world really exists. The truth is that the material world is a limitation of the four-dimension world; it has no permanent existence and will come to an end. This is attested by both religion and science. I wonder, though, about other dimensions of which we are not yet aware or agreed upon…we know of the three spatial dimensions and one of time, but what’s beyond our limited perception? Interestingly, a tomb can also be a symbol of transition, transformation or the release of the physical form. It can represent a resting place, a state of consciousness or a period of preparation for a higher level of being.
