Service to Others and the Community

Another Spiritual Principle to Consider

Serving others through acts of kindness, positive outreach, and volunteer work can be another way to connect with the divine and contribute to the greater good. Just pondering on the law of attraction that says: what you share you receive in kind helps to understand this spiritual principle.

I am reminded of an old story about a wood stove and a man who wanted heat from the stove on a cold winter night. He looked at the stove and said, “give me heat”. Nothing happened. He then kicked the stove again and said, “Give me heat,” nothing happened. He continued demanding heat from the stove and using every possible threat he could to produce heat without results.

After seeking advice from a neighbor on what to do to get heat, he realized he had to do his part to provide the warmth he was seeking and provide the wood, kindling, and air to the stove to create the heat he was seeking. He also learned that he had to keep providing those things in order to sustain the heat from the stove for the rest of the winter.

This takes us back to the idea of how do we create a life of happiness, harmony, and abundance on our spiritual path? The answer appears to be that just like the wood stove, we can make demands on life and blame life and the people around us, when it is really us that has to put in the positive, life affirming and loving thoughts words and actions to create the lifestyle we are seeking.

I guess we are going right back to the idea that we are the creators of our own world living and experiencing our own creation.

The hope is, just like the wood stove working as it is supposed to, there is an answer to our challenges. Become the loving, positive person that we really are and rekindling a spirit of kindness and joy and putting the principle of service, joy, and happiness into action in our lives. It might even be more fun to be around each other and laugh at how seriously we take things.

I Love you...

Rev. Robert

We are focusing on making our Sunday Service more inviting and welcoming to you and new people that join us.
To do that, we want to look at the actual church service in our current building and the resources that we have available.
To start, we have become aware that our Zoom Service is inadequate and is detracting from our overall presentation.  Consequently, we are cancelling our Zoom live streaming program of the Sunday Service until a future date.
Please rejoin us for our Sunday Service in the Heatherwilde Clubhouse.
